Spencer Bates has performed live professionally for over seven years,
playing in piano bars for nearly all of them. He has played at dueling
piano bars across the country, and has maintained a seven-year three-
day-a-week standing gig at Mr. Smith's of Georgetown in Washington,
DC. Completely self-taught, Spencer has written, recorded, and
released three solo albums, and was named the winner of Maryland's
2007 Takoma Park Folk Festival Emerging Artist Competition. With a
repertoire of over 1500 cover songs, spanning genres and decades,
Spencer can provide the musical talent and charisma for any kind of
party, gathering, or venue (holiday, wedding, birthday, corporate,
