In 1933 Dueling Pianos started in New Orleans at a bar called Pat O'Brien's Bar. Over the years, players started to redefine the style by playing more contemporary rock and roll music coupled with humorous bits that involved lyric substitutions and audience participation. Two baby grand pianos or keyboards face each other on a stage. All night the entertainers take requests and play songs from virtually any genre. The crowd is asked to sing along and clap their hands in rhythm. Essentially, the audience IS the show, as opposed to the usual “entertainment” dance club or sports bar scene. Even the bar staff is part of the show! On occasion the entire staff joins the players on stage to perform “showtimes." If you are looking for an evening of entertainment that is unique and fun, Dueling Pianos is for you! But don't say we didn't warn you: this show is addictive!
