Capital Sound is a big band with an enormous sound (five piece rhythm section with a four piece horn section). Based out of Columbus, the band enthusiastically plays some of the best funk, blues, soul, and rock and roll from the 50's through present day; some of it is in the classic style of the original recordings and some of it with an innovative twist all their own. The music of Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Stevie Ray Vaughan and many others are frequently heard at performances. Formed in January 2005, the band was instantly recognized as one of the most talented and entertaining bands in the area and was asked to open for such acts as REO Speedwagon, Ted Nugent, and The Roots within 6 months of the band's inception. Always dynamic, funky, and entertaining, Capital Sound is guaranteed to make people of all ages get up and dance.
